Theses

Terms and conditions for final theses

We continuously offer the opportunity to write theses on topics in the fields of management, human resources, and information. The topics are projects that explicitly relate to the chair's main areas of research. You can request the current list of topics directly from the chair team. If you are interested, please send your application documents to the supervisor of the respective topic. After reviewing your application, you will be informed in a timely manner whether you have been accepted or rejected.

Due to the limited number of thesis places, only those who have passed the Bachelor's or Master's seminar at the chair have the opportunity to write a thesis at the chair.

Your application should include the following information:

  • Certificate of enrollment
  • Contact details
  • HisQis printout

Timetable

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Please submit your complete application documents by email to the supervisor responsible for the advertised topic.

Once you have received confirmation, you will have between four and six weeks, depending on the topic, to conduct research and prepare an outline. You will present the final outline to Prof. Dr. Fiedler. If no further changes are made to the topic and outline, the chair will send your registration form to the examination office. Once you have received confirmation from the examination office, your processing time will begin, which is between 2 and 4 months depending on the type of thesis.

Important information

To ensure that applicants have the methodological knowledge required to write a thesis, we recommend that they attend the Empirical Methods in Management, Human Resources, and Information course in addition to participating in our department's bachelor's or master's seminar.
