The PAULA Experimental Laboratory is looking for motivated participants who enjoy and are curious about economic experiments. You will be part of the research and help us explain scientific relationships.
With the laboratory experiments in our computer lab, we examine decision-making behavior in various situations. All experiments are anonymous and cannot be traced back to any participant. The experiments usually last about 30–45 minutes and are well remunerated. However, remuneration is performance-based and depends exclusively on your decision-making behavior. If you are particularly successful, you will also be exceptionally well compensated. It is even possible to earn up to €18 in just 30 minutes!
After registering in the registration system, registered participants will receive emails with invitations to experiments at irregular intervals. Each invitation specifies the date, time, and duration of the experiments. The persons contacted can select one of the dates if they wish to participate in the experiment. On the respective dates, the registered persons appear in the (virtual) laboratory and the experiment is carried out. After completion of the experiment, the participants are paid.
The laboratory is equipped with a total of 20 workstations (table, chair, partition, computer) and several servers. The furniture and technical equipment are designed for mobility, allowing for various spatial and technical arrangements. This enables the investigation of a wide range of interdisciplinary questions.
As companies increasingly operate without borders, the lab also enables the study of behavior in virtual contexts. The lab adheres to the rules of economic experiments, i.e., participants are not deceived and are remunerated monetarily. Specifically, this means that everything the participants are told in the lab is true and that they are paid based on their decisions.
When designing the experiments, we place great emphasis on accuracy, repeatability, generality, and usefulness.
