Seminars at the chair
Every semester, the Chair of Marketing and Innovation organizes at least one Bachelor's seminar and usually one Master's seminar with different topics. The aim of the seminars is the scientific examination of a given topic as well as the preparation for Bachelor's and Master's theses at our Chair.

In the winter semester 2024/25, the Chair of Marketing and Innovation is offering two Bachelor's seminars and one Master's seminar.
The application period for the Bachelor's seminar starts on 17.06.2024 at 9:00 a.m. and ends on 24.06.2024 at 11:59 p.m. Attention: extended deadline for the Bachelor Seminar 2 "Digital Transformations" until July 12th at 11:59 p.m.

Bachelor Seminars
The bachelor's seminar is designed to introduce you to a scientific review of existing research literature. In the seminar, you will identify academic articles on a defined topic and classify them using suitable criteria in order to identify future research needs. We will support you with the necessary methods and tools.

Bachelor Seminar 1 - Customer Journey
Bachelor Seminar 1 - Customer Journey addresses the topic "Literature analysis on current marketing topics".
The aim of the seminar is to critically examine and process selected research results, particularly in the area of the customer journey.
Students can gain experience in researching, processing and presenting the current state of research on a specific marketing topic.
The target group is anyone who wants to optimally prepare for a Bachelor's thesis in the field of marketing.
The application deadline is June 24, 2024. Further information on the seminar and application procedure can be found in the Announcement Bachelor Seminar 1.
Bachelor Seminar 2 - Digital Transformations
Bachelor Seminar 2 - Digital Transformations addresses the topic „Literature analysis on digital transformation and the role of marketing".
The aim of the seminar is to critically examine and process selected research results, particularly in the field of digital transformation and the role of marketing.
Students can gain experience in researching, processing and presenting the state of research on a specific marketing topic.
The target group is anyone who would like to optimally prepare for a Bachelor's thesis in the field of marketing.
The application deadline is June 24, 2024. Attention: extended application deadline until 12th of July at 11:59 p.m. Further information on the seminar and application procedure can be found in the Announcement Bachelor Seminar 2.

Master Seminar
The master's seminar is designed to introduce you to empirical work using qualitative or quantitative data. In the seminar, you will work in small groups to independently develop, conduct and then analyze a research study on a defined topic. In this way, you will go through the typical process of a research project on a small scale. We will support you with the necessary methods and tools.
In the winter semester 2024/25, the Chair of Marketing and Innovation is offering a master's seminar with the title "Qualitative Research on Current Marketing Topics".
Based on theories of consumer behavior, the aim is to independently research a topic from the above-mentioned areas empirically as part of a group project.
As part of the seminar paper, you will deal with questions on one of the following main topics, whereby the specific seminar paper topics will be announced during the kick-off:
- Platformization of B2B Privacy
- Consumers' Avatar Self-Disclosure
Students can gain experience in the collection and analysis of qualitative data as well as the presentation of research results.
The target group is anyone who would like to optimally prepare for a (qualitative) Master's thesis in marketing and who is particularly interested in qualitative research.
The application deadline is June 24, 2024 (23:59). Attention: extended application deadline until 3rd of July at 9:00 a.m. Further information on the seminar and application procedure can be found in the Call for Applications.
Group work on a scientific topic

Master's students no longer have to register centrally in Stud IP from SS 2019. An application to the chair is sufficient.
