Ceremonial farewell on 13 March 2026

At the academic ceremony on Friday, March 13, 2026, 80 graduates and 2 doctoral candidates from the School of Business, Economics and Information Systems were honored. The Dean, Prof. Dr. Suleika Bort, together with the Dean of Studies, Prof. Dr. Thomas Widjaja, presented the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral certificates during the ceremony in the Audimax.

In addition, faculty awards and other prizes for outstanding achievements were presented:
Dr. Laura Kochendörfer and Dr. Geske Rolvering were awarded the Helmut Schmalen Dissertation Prize (Helmut-Schmalen-Dissertationspreis) for their outstanding dissertations.

Eva Maier (M.Sc. WI) and Rebecca Stehr (M.Sc. IEB) received the Hans Lindner Prize (Hans-Lindner-Preis) for their outstanding academic performance in the master’s program.

Vincent Just (B.Sc. BAE) and Michael Weißenböck (B.Sc. WI) were presented with the Sparkassen Prize (Sparkassenpreis) for their outstanding academic performance in the two bachelor’s programs.

The theses of Marie-Luise Aster, Trajana Erlenberg, and Daniel Gröll (all M.Sc. BA) were also honored with the Prize of the Friends and Sponsors of Economics in Passau (Preis der Freunde und Förderer der Wirtschaftswissenschaften).

The following were honored as outstanding STEM graduates (MINT-Absolventinnen): Angelika Augustin and Kira Fink (both M.Sc. WI). The awards were presented by Hanna Roider, Faculty Representative for the Equality of Women in Science and the Arts.

Ceremonial farewell on October 10, 2025

At the academic ceremony on Friday, October 10, 2025, 51 graduates, six doctoral candidates, and one postdoctoral researcher from the School of Business, Economics and Information Systems were honored. The Dean, Prof. Dr. Suleika Bort, together with the Dean of Studies, Prof. Dr. Thomas Widjaja, presented the bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and postdoctoral certificates during the ceremony in the Audimax.

The ceremony also marked the completion of Dr. habil. Markus Fritsch’s habilitation.

Dr. Laura Bregenzer, Dr. Steffen Klug, Dr. Catherine Lorenz, and Dr. Hendrike Werwigk were awarded the Helmut Schmalen Dissertation Prize (Helmut-Schmalen-Dissertationspreis) for their outstanding dissertations.

The theses of Kira Fink (M.Sc. WI), Daniel Graber (M.Sc. BA), Michael Kania (B.Sc. BAE and B.Sc. DTBS), Marco Kreuzpaintner (M.Sc. IEB), and Moritz Müller (B.Sc. BAE and B.Sc. DTBS) were awarded the Prize of the Friends and Sponsors of Economics in Passau (Preis der Freunde und Förderer Wirtschaftswissenschaften).

Michael Kania (B.Sc. BAE and B.Sc. DTBS) was also awarded the Sparkassen Prize (Sparkassenpreis) for his outstanding academic achievements in both bachelor’s programs.

Daniel Graber (M.Sc. BA) also received the Hans Lindner Prize (Hans-Lindner-Preis) for his outstanding academic achievements in the master’s program.

In addition, Lukas Bierling (B.Sc. WI) was awarded the GOR Bachelor’s Prize (GOR-Bachelorpreis) by the Society for Operations Research for his outstanding academic performance in Operations Research, as demonstrated by his bachelor’s thesis.
