Seminars at the chair

Every semester, the Chair of Marketing and Innovation organizes at least one Bachelor's seminar and usually one Master's seminar with different topics. The aim of the seminars is the scientific examination of a given topic as well as the preparation for Bachelor's and Master's theses at our Chair.

Application periods for seminars - General information

Summer Semester

The allocation of seminar places for the summer semester is expected to take place in January/February. As soon as the exact dates for the application period are known, they will be published on this page.

Winter Semester

The allocation of seminar places for the winter semester is expected to take place in June/July. As soon as the exact dates for the application period are known, they will be published on this page.

Bachelor Seminar

The bachelor's seminar is designed to introduce you to a scientific review of existing research literature. In the seminar, you will identify academic articles on a defined topic and classify them using suitable criteria in order to identify future research needs. We will support you with the necessary methods and tools.

In the summer semester 2026, the Chair of Marketing and Innovation is offering a bachelor's seminar.

The bachelor's seminar deals with the topic “Literature analysis on current marketing topics”.

The aim of the seminar is to critically examine and process selected research results.

Students can gain experience in researching, processing and presenting the current state of research on a specific marketing topic.

The target group is all those who wish to prepare themselves optimally for a Bachelor's thesis in the field of marketing.

The application deadline is January 19, 2026 (23:59). Further information on the seminar and application procedure can be found in the call for applications.

  • Intermediate presentation (Power-Point): 15%
  • Final presentation (Power-Point): 15%
  • Seminar paper: 70%
    • 12 pages (excl. cover page, indexes, references, appendix)

Master Seminar

The master's seminar is designed to introduce you to empirical work using qualitative or quantitative data. In the seminar, you will work in small groups to independently develop, conduct and then analyze a research study on a defined topic. In this way, you will go through the typical process of a research project on a small scale. We will support you with the necessary methods and tools.

In the summer semester 2026, the Chair of Marketing and Innovation is offering a master's seminar with the title "Emerging Challenges in Digital Marketing".

Based on theories of consumer behavior, the aim is to independently research a topic from the above-mentioned areas empirically as part of a group project.

As part of the seminar paper, you will deal with questions on relevant marketing topics, whereby the specific seminar paper topics will be announced during the kick-off.

Students can gain experience in the collection and analysis of qualitative data as well as the presentation of research results.

The target group is anyone who would like to optimally prepare for a (qualitative) Master's thesis in marketing and who is particularly interested in qualitative research.

Master's students no longer have to register centrally in Stud IP from SS 2019. An application to the chair is sufficient.
