Scientific competition is a central element of academic careers: whether for publications, research funding, reputation, or top young talent. But how intense is this competition actually perceived to be? And how do these experiences differ across disciplines, countries, or career stages?
In this seminar, you will analyze survey data from researchers in various fields across the United States, Germany, and Switzerland. The focus lies on disciplinary differences and cross-country comparisons.
The seminar offers the opportunity to develop your own research questions and examine them empirically. At the same time, it supports the development of scientific analysis and writing skills
Further information on the seminar topic can be found here.
