Bachelor seminar WS 2025/26

The Chair of Accounting and Auditing is offering a bachelor seminar on “Enforcement of Accounting and Sustainability Reporting” in the winter semester 2025/2026. The seminar will be held in cooperation with the Capital Markets Advisory Services department of PwC Vienna.

Enforcement of the correct application of accounting and sustainability standards is central to the usefulness of information from corporate reporting. The seminar will shed light on the institutional structures of enforcement in Europe and deal with specific cases of non-compliance with standards by listed companies from published error reports.

The seminar can be attended by students on the Bachelor's degree program in Economics and the Bachelor's degree program in Cultural Studies.

The schedule is as follows:

October:

  • Kick-off: Topic allocation + introduction to academic work
  • Excursion to PwC Vienna

November: Discussion of outline

December: Submission of the seminar paper

January 2026: Final presentations

Master seminar WS 2025/26

The Chair of Accounting and Auditing is offering a master's seminar on the topic of “Sustainability Reporting – Evidence on the initial application of ESRS” in the winter semester 2025/2026. The seminar will be held in cooperation with the Capital Markets Advisory Services department of PwC Vienna.

Although the CSRD was not yet adopted in Germany and Austria, most large listed companies voluntarily decided to use the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) in their sustainability reports for the year 2024. The seminar focuses on analyses of the first ESRS reports by comparing companies from the same industries regarding the insights they provide on specific ESG topics.

The seminar is open to students enrolled in the master program Business Administration.

The schedule is as follows:

October:

  • Kick-off: Assignment of topics + introduction to academic work
  • Excursion to PwC Vienna

November: Discussions on the structure of the seminar paper

December: Submission of the seminar paper

January 2026: Final presentations

The exact dates for the seminar will be determined at a later date.

Please submit the following documents to the Chair of Accounting and Auditing by the deadline:

  1. Registration form Bachelor or Master
  2. Extract of passed examinations
  3. Extract of currently registered examinations
  4. Certificate of enrolment

Send your complete application documents for the winter semester 2025/26 in the period from 30.06.2025 to 07.07.2025 in one pdf file (last name_first name) to: sekretariat.accaud@uni-passau.de.

After the application deadline, we will inform you promptly by e-mail whether you have received a seminar place. If you do not wish to make use of a confirmation you have received, please deregister immediately at the chair via sekretariat.accaud@uni-passau.de. Registration for the Stud.IP course is done automatically via the chair's office.
