If you want to know how the German SME sector is faring in terms of digital transformation, you can hardly get past Jan Rodig.
Therefore, we are pleased that he also paid a visit to the University of Passau at the beginning of May and gave a guest lecture for our students enrolled in the International Management course. Jan's lecture Digital Value Creation - An International Perspective showed us how German SMEs are responding to the zeitgeist that "software is eating the world" (quote: Marc Andreessen). Four guiding questions were at the heart of his presentation:
(1) How competitive is Germany in the global digital arena - and why?
(2) Why is digital value creation critical for businesses and economies?
(3) What are the key levers of digital value creation?
(4) How to unlock this potential - and why does it fail 9 out of 10 times?
The session was followed by a Career Talk, where we exchanged ideas about entrepreneurship. Jan took the time to talk about the unique culture of his company and showed our students different entry options at SMP.
We sincerely thank Jan Rodig for his valuable input and time.
