The vision of our department is to contribute to the sustainable development of society by promoting fair and transparent governance systems. Our research aims to understand and improve the interactions between governance systems and human behavior.
Our mission is to create social value through effective knowledge transfer by linking theory and practice in governance research and gaining practical insights.
The chair's strategy is to accompany the understanding of governance with innovative learning and teaching formats. Blended learning, flipped classrooms, and problem-based learning* are formats that challenge not only our students but also all members of the chair. We take research-oriented teaching seriously!
To help you integrate our program into your studies in the best possible way, we have created a helpful guide for you. It contains a comprehensive overview of the teaching program, including a detailed course overview and our recommendations on how to plan your modules so that they build on each other.
While we teach the fundamentals of business management, stakeholder competence, and strategic competence in our bachelor's program through interactive lectures, blended learning, and flipped classrooms, our master's program focuses on interactive and self-directed formats such as problem-based learning (PBL)* and discursive formats (e.g., Book of the Year).
Here you will find the guide for the bachelor's program.

* In our PBL courses, we work closely with companies to develop theoretically sound solutions for practical application. To date, we have advised numerous companies, including anonyfy GmbH, BAVERTIS GmbH, Camsol Innovations GmbH, Gastimate Technologies GmbH, Josko Fenster und Türen GmbH, and Zeitsilber GmbH. Of course, we do not charge a fee for our consulting services, but benefit from the input and feedback provided by the executives.
