Brown bag seminar - Recent developments in data science

The Brown Bag Seminar Recent Developments in Data Science serves as a platform for exchange and constructive discussions on a full variety of topics around data science from first research ideas up to already published research results. It welcomes methodological topics as well as innovative applications of quantitative methods. Areas of application include, but are not limited to, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Operations Management, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management.

The moderated presentations at the Brown Bag Seminar offer a varoety of approaches:

  • Expert classes:
Talks on latest advances in development and application of quantitative methods provided by invited scientists, who are experts in their field.
  • Impulses from managers:
Presentations by practitioners on case studies for the planned or actual application of quantitative methods. These talks provide insights into the (expected) impact of quantitative methods in practice and highlight the challenges that arise and lessons to be learned. They identify the most important future research directions on quantitative methods from a managerial point of view.
  • Intensive ideation workshops:
Doctoral students (and/or further workshop participants) present their current research in order to collect intensive feedback, inspiration, and ideas for further steps.

Doctoral students are invited to participate in this seminar; detailed information on current lectures can be found directly in Stud.IP No. 39740 for the corresponding semester.
