Exam and assessment information

Details regarding the examinations organised locally by the chair will be announced under 'News' on our homepage.

Exams organised by the Examinations Office

All 60-minute examinations consist of 7 equally weighted tasks, which are often divided into two to three sub-questions.

Any changes to this format will be clearly communicated in the respective lecture.

Only non-programmable electronic calculators are permitted as a tool in all examinations.

Calculations in exams are usually based on quite straightforward economic reasoning. As we want to teach you this economic way of thinking, we do not provide any formulas in the exam, with a few exceptions. We will clearly communicate these exceptions during the respective course.

You can address any questions regarding upcoming examinations to the respective lecturer at any time – ideally directly during class, but also via email. Your questions will then be answered by the lecturer during class so that all students receive this information and to avoid any unfair advantages. In particular, examination inclusions and exclusions will only be announced during the lecture.

In order to ensure fair and equal treatment of all students, we do not answer exam-related questions individually, for example by email or during office hours. This means you can always be sure that you have the same exam-relevant information as your fellow students.

In each semester in which a course is offered, as well as in the following semester (‘Wiederholerklausur’) an exam is given during the regular examination period. Any variations from this rule will be announced in good time at the beginning of the course. The scope of the material covered in ‘Wiederholerklausur’ is identical to that of ‘regular’ examinations.
