Dr. Asankha Pallegedara from the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka holds a prestigious Alexander-von-Humboldt fellowship and visits the Chair for two years. Asankha obtained his PhD at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Japan. During his stay he will undertake research on the demand of public vs. private health care in Sri Lanka.
Dr. Marina Dodlova comes from the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA) where she has been a research fellow from 2013 onwards. Marina obtained her PhD at the University of Paris Nanterre in 2010. After her PhD she was a lecturer and researcher at the University Paris Sorbonne and had visiting positions at Stanford University and Columbia University. She is also a Research Affiliate with the CESIfo in Munich. Marina will support the teaching activities in development economics and applied econometrics. Her main research interest is in political economy issues.
Ann-Kristin Reitmann is about to complete her Master in Economics at the University of Cologne. She has spent a semester in Mexico and holds a BA in International Management from the European University in Flensburg. She has worked as a research assistant at the Rheinisch-Westfälisches Intitute für Wirtschaftsforschung (RWI) in Essen. She has been involved in particular in evaluations of interventions targeted at energy-poor households. She has done field work in Colombia. She will soon start her doctoral studies in Passau and support the teaching activities in microeconomics and development economics.
Dr. Andreas Fuchs joins the Chair temporarily as a guest lecturer for the BA course Growth and Development. Andreas obtained his PhD from the University of Göttingen in 2012 and was on a post-doctoral visiting position at Princeton University afterwards. He is currently on a DFG-funded post-doc position at the University of Heidelberg.
