In June, two members of our team attended the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS 2026) in Milan, Italy. Prof. Dr. Ulrich Gnewuch presented the paper “Autonomous Multi-IS Systems: A Framework for Studying Artificial Intelligence Agents,” co-authored with Prof. Dr. Jin Gerlach. The paper develops a framework for studying AI agents as autonomous systems consisting of multiple information systems and discusses challenges arising when these systems interact.
At the 2026 Pre-ECIS Workshop on Human-Computer Interaction, Ana-Maria Sîrbu presented research in progress from a qualitative study on how users calibrate their trust during interactions with generative AI assistants. The study is part of the bidt research project “Trustworthy Generative AI Copilots for Data Analytics in Business Decision-Making.”
