Stefan Daschner worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Business Administration with a focus on accounting and controlling from October 2018 to July 2023. His teaching focus was on the areas of controlling, transfer pricing, company valuation, the supervision of the company valuation workshop and the supervision and implementation of various Bachelor's and Master's seminars. As part of the intercultural Master's programme, Mr Daschner also supported the course ‘Financing and Controlling’ at the Turkish-German University in Istanbul. Mr Daschner is a Research Affiliate of the University of Passau.
As part of his cumulative dissertation, Mr Daschner conducted intensive research into the topics of trust, behaviour and decision-making in human-algorithm interaction. His work focused on identifying the factors influencing trust and behaviour in the use of decision-making systems and analysing their effect on the quality of decisions. Mr Daschner has also investigated the potential risks of overconfidence in algorithmic recommendations and developed recommendations for the appropriate design of forecasting programmes. His other projects deal with the effect of information representation on decision quality as well as the phenomenon of overtrust and the calibration of individual trust in decision support systems. One article has already been published in a prestigious international journal.
