A lot can be achieved with dedication and commitment, that has been proved by the Passauer student Larissa Zwingel and her friend Carolin Hoffmann. After a trip to Ghana they established the foundation „Home for hope – Eine Zukunft für Waisenkinder“, to improve the living conditions of orphan children in the west african state of Ghana.
After having heard about the project, the chair of marketing and services was very fascinated by the student's commitment and now wants to support their plans actively. The chair will therefore not only donate money itself; Prof. Dr. Dirk Totzek and his research associates Daniel Maar and Markus Bergmeier additionally want to present the fundraising campaign to the students of the University of Passau during their lectures and seminars.
Although "Home for hope" already managed to build the first orphanage in Ghana, more donations will permanently be needed in the future. The institution, which provides room for about 40 children, has to be connected to the electricity supply now; costs thereby incurred will add up to about 10 000 euros.
