The main purpose of the meeting was to promote the exchange between science and industry and to identify possible future cooperation and joint projects in the field of supply chain management between ZF and the University of Passau.
At ZF, the agenda included a tour of the assembly lines and the state-of-the-art logistics center as well as an overview of the topic of "Sales & Operations Planning". This process of the Passau logistics team pursues the goal of determining forecast requirements as accurately as possible and translating them into a feasible production program. In return, Professor Otto and her team also presented the current research projects of their chair to the ZF logistics experts.
The visit to Plant 2 was just an initial opportunity to get to know each other; in the future, the exchange between ZF and our chair is to be further intensified. Among other things, this will take the form of possible guest lectures by the ZF team at the university in order to provide students with a very practical approach to supply chain management topics in what is often a very theoretical everyday lecture.
We would like to thank Matthias Baier, Head of SCM Division I, Julian Hermann, Head of SCM Process Management Division I and Alois Ritzinger, Head of Freight, Customs and Procurement Logistics Division I and ZF again for the invitation, super exciting tour and interesting exchange! We are convinced of the potential of the cooperation and look forward to a successful collaboration!
