Prof. Dr. Carola Jungwirth has held a chair in Business Administration (from 2007 - 2016 with a focus on International Management, since 2020 with a focus on Governance) at the University of Passau since 2007. In teaching, she follows the model of student-centred teaching and uses concepts of Problem Based Learning and Flipped Classroom. Her research is in the field of science management, with a special focus on the topics of "gender equity" and "regional anchoring of universities". For the University of Passau, she was Dean of Studies (2007-2010) and Dean (2012-2014) of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration as well as University Women's Representative (2010-2012) and President (2016-2020) of the university. She is a member of the University - Business Working Group of the German Rectors' Conference, is involved in national and international quality circles as well as in continuing education on the topic of "science management" and holds an honorary supervisory board mandate at Caritasverband für die Diözese Passau e. V.. Carola Jungwirth studied business administration at the LMU Munich, earned her doctorate at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and habilitated at the University of Zurich. She has worked internationally at the Universities of Zurich, Liechtenstein, Corvinus University Budapest, TDU Istanbul, IIT Madras and Western Michigan University.
