In the course of the doctoral procedure, the doctoral candidate must participate in at least four modules from the graduate program of the Faculty of Economic Sciences (§ 6 para. 1 Subject-Specific Doctoral Degree Regulations).

Recognition of equivalent modules
According to § 6 para. 1 clause 3 of the Subject-Specific Doctoral Degree Regulations, the Board of Examiners for Doctoral Awards may, upon request, recognize equivalent modules acquired outside the graduate program of the School of Business, Economics and Information Systems. In this case, the following documents must be submitted to the Dean's Office of the School of Business, Economics and Information Systems (R 109):
- Application for recognition of equivalent modules
- a copy of the certificate and a detailed description of the course content
- a written declaration by the doctoral student that the modules submitted for recognition are not or were not the subject of another examination procedure or a previous course of study
- in addition, in the case of recognition of external courses, a brief statement by the supervisor that the course is equivalent in content to courses from the graduate program of the School of Business, Economics and Information Systems must be attached.
External offers
The offers of the Bavarian Graduate Programme in Economics (BGPE) can also be used. Blocked weekly courses on the topics "Advanced Microeconomics", "Advanced Macroeconomics", "Advanced Econometrics" and "Specialized Subjects" are offered there.
Furthermore, the offers of the ProDok program of the Association of University Teachers of Business Administration (VHB) can be used. Blocked courses on methodological topics as well as subject-specific courses in the fields of "Accounting", "Finance", "Management", "Marketing", "Operations" and "Business Information Systems Engineering" are offered there.
