Prof. Dr. Martina Padmanabhan (Chair of Comparative Development and Cultural studies) and Prof. Dr. Michael Grimm (Chair of Development Economics) have received from the Federal Ministry of Research and Education a grant of EUR 850.000 to explore the potential of organic farming in Indonesia. Prof. Grimm and his team will run randomized experiments to explore the incentives needed to enhance the adoption of sustainable cultivation methods and evaluate the medium and longer term consequences for farmers of having adopted new approaches. Nathalie Luck joined the chair to work on this project. She just obtained her MSc in Development Economics from the University of Glasgow.
