Our popular "We Zoom You Together" from the Orientation Week goes into the next round! Get to know your fellow students and make new friends despite the online semester.
Join Wonder Room (please use Chrome or Firefox)
We have decided to change the platform to offer you an even more varied evening! Wonder is a virtual space where people can meet and talk.
All participants can see who is talking to whom. You move your avatar with the mouse and to join a conversation you simply move closer to new conversations and groups. To leave a group, you simply move your avatar away again and look for a new place.
This way the event also has more of our regular "Kneipentour". :)
Without Corona the Zoom consultation hour would actually be called "Fachschaftsdienst". At this time we are certainly always available in our office.
Since this semester is different, we will be available on Zoom between 10 AM to 11 AM and will answer your questions personally. In general you can always try to call us on the phone. We will also answer immediately via mail and social media.
The link and the zoom data will be updated every day:

The podcast "How to Wiwi" welcomes the freshmen - called "Quietschies" at the University of Passau - and all those who want to get to know the Faculty of Economic Sciences (even better), warmly, personally and informatively.
From Sunday, October 18th, the first season will run and there will be a new one of 18 episodes every day. From November 16th, the second season will continue with one episode per week.

Dear students, dear first-year students
the coming winter semester will still be under the influence of the corona pandemic. At present, it is not possible to predict how the pandemic will develop. Despite the announced relaxation by the Ministry of State and the desire for more face-to-face teaching, extensive distance and hygiene rules continue to apply, drastically reducing our room capacities.
Unfortunately, this makes it impossible for us to provide regular classroom teaching during the winter semester. For this reason, almost all larger courses (especially lectures, exercises and tutorials) are offered as entirely online courses. Some smaller courses can be held as classroom courses or as classroom courses with an online option. Lecturers will announce the information about the type and course of the event in time on their websites and in Stud.IP. We will bundle and standardize this information to make it easier for you to plan your studies at the beginning of the semester.
We would be pleased if you, as a first semester student, decide in favor of our study programs. We will create special offers for you beyond the regular study program to make it easier for you to start studying at the University of Passau. In addition to our introductory events and the services offered by our student council during the orientation week, this includes additional offers by us and the student council during the semester.
At least some of these offers will take place in person and the rest will be online. This applies in particular to our new Bachelor's program "Digital Transformation in Business and Society". We also hope to be able to offer you unlimited access to the library at the beginning of the semester.
We cannot recommend whether you should stay in Passau permanently during the winter semester 2020/21, as this depends on your personal circumstances. Please be prepared for the fact that this semester at the Faculty of Economic Sciences will be studyable online as far as possible. However, be able and willing to come to the University of Passau for individual courses or examinations. We would like to make as many offers on campus accessible to you as possible in addition to the pure lecture schedule.
We are planning to run lectures at the Faculty of Economic Sciences from 02.11.2020 to 12.02.2021. Afterwards, we plan to have an examination phase of about four weeks as usual.
We are looking forward to the winter semester with you. Until then, come through the summer well and healthy!
