Artificial Intelligence and Big Data are already now key drivers for disruption in many industries
and will change the way business works from its core. Major industries across different segments
are increasingly investing in AI and Big Data capabilities. Not only after IBM Watson, the global
players in insurance, pharma, medtech and IT in healthcare are looking for strategies in this
segment. This guest lecture covers an introduction in AI, drivers for key investment decisions and
according AI strategy definition processes.
Justus is Manager for Strategy and M&A at Syte, Strategy Institute for Digital Health. Syte is a global strategy and M&A advisory and has advised listed multinationals as well as cutting edge SMEs. Recent projects include for example digital business models for insurances in the US and Europe and M&A advisory projects for investments in big data companies in Asia and Latin America.
Before Syte, Justus has worked in M&A advisory and strategy consulting including the opening of a Latin America office of a German DAX 30 company. He is coauthor of publications regarding “Digital Health Investments” (Top 30 VCs and 600 investments), the “Global benchmarking of Digital Hubs” (Ranking of 25 Digital Hubs) and „Enterprise Valuation for Artificial Intelligence and Big Data companies“ (Modified valuation methods).
Justus was lecturing on the topic “From Venture Capital to Venture Client” at IMD (International Institute for Management Development) in Switzerland and AI Strategy in the UK. He holds a BSc in finance and a MSc in strategy and conducted his executive education at Said Business School, University of Oxford.
