Part I: Lecture on “Women as Leaders: Do They Make a Difference” (~1,5 hours)
Women have become more numerous in most leader roles, and public opinion increasingly favors female leaders. Yet, cultural gender roles continue to make leadership challenging for women, as shown by research on reactions to female and male leaders. Research also suggests that women and men differ somewhat in their priorities as leaders. Her lecture on female leadership will be especially interesting for all PhD candidates, early career scholars and scholars interested in women and gender roles in management.
Part II: Paper Development Workshop (~1,5 hours)
Please send a note by 21 October to verena.komander@uni-passau.de if you are interested in getting feedback on your paper or research idea. Please attach an extended abstract or manuscript or any kind of material you want Prof. Eagly to study in preparation for the discussion.
The idea is to organize the PDW as a “masterclass” where everyone participates in the discussion of maximum four ideas/papers. As such, the discussion of your paper will be on a first come first serve basis. However, note that listening in to the PDW will certainly be worthwhile, as Professor Eagly will attempt to address issues that will almost certainly be of value to all. You are also invited to contribute feedback and ask questions.
