The seminar deals with two main topics: (1) What are best practices of presenting and writing a literature review and how can such methods be applied in the context of the research field on female executives? (2) What is the role of research on female managers in leadership theory and why is it of great importance from a theoretical and practical point of view?
In this seminar, we will give you an overview of the methodological foundations of a scientific literature review. The focus will be on the significance of such a literature review, the forms and structures it can take, and how to proceed epistemologically. Furthermore, we will also pay special attention to the basics of scientific writing. In this context, we will focus on the highly relevant and multifaceted field of research on female executives, which is becoming increasingly important in management research. Subsequently, we will present the basic theories from the research. At the end of the project seminar, you should be able to independently expand your knowledge of a specific research field by means of a scientific literature review and to present and communicate that knowledge scientifically, both orally and in writing. In doing so, you will acquire basic knowledge of scientific work and will be able to scientifically analyze and defend subject-specific contents with arguments.
