The government of Quebec/Canada and the government of Bavaria/Germany approved our mutual funding application with Prof. Michel Gendreau (University of Montreal) for setting up a scientific collaboration on advanced optimization methods for the management of mobile robots in factories and warehouses.
The project will develop state-of-the-art algorithms for planning the activities of a fleet of (cooperating) automated mobile robots in the context of a digital plant or warehouse. We plan to address both operational planning and real-time planning problems. To cope with this challenging task, we will research on the cutting edge of technology and combine artificial intelligence techniques and operational research methods.
