2014 Tunisian Society for Financial Studies (TSFS) Finance Conference

Special issue call for papers from Studies in Economics and Finance

The Tunisian Society for Financial Studies, in cooperation with the IHE Tunis and IHE Paris and Studies in Economics and Finance, is pleased to
announce a call for papers for the Second Annual Conference, which will be held on December 12-13, 2014, in Sousse, Tunisia.

Keynote Speakers:

  • Professor Steven Ongena, University of Zurich, Switzerland and Bangor University, UK
  • Professor Boualem Djehiche, The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden
  • Professor M. Kabir Hassan, University of New Orleans, USA
  • Professor Robert (Bob) DeYoung, University of Kansas School of Business, USA

Subject to the normal review process, a selection of six conference papers will be eligible for submission for inclusion in a special issue of Studies in

Economics and Finance on the theme “Corporate Governance and Business Ethics”. The special issue will be published under the Guest Editorship
of Professor Samir Saadi (University of Ottawa). Original contributions on the theme are invited, including but not limited to:

- Corporate Governance in Emerging Markets
- Financial Crisis, Corporate Governance and Corporate Risk-Taking
- Corporate Governance and Crash-Risk
- Institutional Investment Horizon and Business Ethics
- Media Coverage and Corporate Investment Decision
- Media Coverage and Corporate Social Responsibility
- Media Coverage, CEO Turnover and Corporate Risk-Taking
- Political Connection, Firm Performance and CEO Turnover
- Social Media and Managerial Behavior
- Social Media and Investors Behavior
- Corporate Social Responsibility and Executive Compensation
- Corporate Social Responsibility and Firm Innovation
- Privatization and Business Ethics
- Privatization and Corporate Risk-Taking
- National Culture and Corporate Governance

Submission Process:
Authors whose papers are accepted for presentation at the conference are encouraged to submit their papers to Studies in Economics and Finance
special issue at mc.manuscriptcentral.com/sef and should specify in the abstract that the manuscript is a "2014 TSFS conference paper". Full
paper submission deadline is January 31, 2015.
There is no submission fee. Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication
elsewhere. All papers are refereed through a peer review process. The authors will need to comply with the journal’s author guidelines indicated

World Finance Special Issue in Studies in Economics and Finance - indexed in Scopus and EconLit

Selected quality papers presented at the 2014 World Finance Conference and the 2014 World Finance & Banking Symposium will be included in a
special issue of Studies in Economics and Finance. The journal is published by Emerald Group Publishing and was recently re-launched as a journal
focusing on finance and the intersection between finance, financial markets and economics. The journal is indexed in Scopus and EconLit, amongst
other abstract and indexing services. The special issue is open to all conference topics.

The World Finance special issue guest editors are: João Paulo VIEITO, Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, Portugal and Wing Keung WONG,
Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong, China

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE : Conference participants are invited to submit their presented papers for the SEF special issue after the respective
