The Center for Digital Business Transformation (C4DBT) has been launched in the middle of March 2017 by a successful kick-off meeting at the Universität Passau in cooperation with a big internationally operating automotive supplier. The center researches economic options for action and design of digitally networked products and value-added processes for a Industrie 4.0. Apart from Professor Obermaier, who is the Center's leader, there are also the Marketing Chairs of Professor Schumann and Professor Totzek as well as the Chair of Data Science of Professor Granitzer involved. In addition, there are also five doctoral students working at the Center. The objective is to work out practically relevant and scientifically based results especially for digital business model developments of industrial companies in the course of digital transformation. The Center's interdisciplinary structure is designed to provide a comprehensive view of the complex subject regarding both economic and technical aspects.
